The City of Mississauga is surely known for its waterfront communities along Lake Ontario and homes for sale in Lakeview are the epitome of the family-friendly community. This neighbourhood is situated in an area that is comprised of mostly older homes and it includes a wide range of amenities.
The neighbourhood is set against a backdrop of a natural setting and is full of lush scenery and mature trees. Housing styles run the gamut from classic bungalows to creative side splits and back splits as well as some more traditional 2-storey homes. Upgraded older properties can also be found within the vicinity.
Lakeview is nowhere short of means of transportation. In fact there are many nearby public transit options such as the Lakeshore West Train. Commuting can happen at both the Long Branch, where there are connections to six TTC bus line and Mimco GO Stations. Drivers can take any of the major roads including Queen Elizabeth Way, Lakeshore Road, Queensway East, and Dixie Road to get around Lakeview. Lakefront parks are easily accessible through multi-use trails.
The neighbourhood schools cater to residents of different age groups. There are three high schools including Westacres Public School, Janet I. McDougald Public School, and Cawthra Park Secondary School which is Mississauga’s specialty Music & Arts school. In addition, there are two elementary schools (Janet I McDougald & Westacres) and one middle school, Allan A Martin Sr., making the overall school zone one of the smaller ones.
What better way to have fun than to spend the day embracing the beauty of nature at various parks in the nieghbourhood. Strolling down the waterfront trail is another captivating activity and Lakefront Promenade Park and Marina run along Lake Ontario. Other parks in the area include Applewood South Park and Westacres Park.
There are a number of outdoor activities to take part in such as biking, boating, racing and cruising for adventure seekers at Port Credit Yacht Club. The club also hosts various family events all year round. Located at 115 Lakefront Promenade, PCYC is less than 10 minutes away from the community.
Running errands is the neighbourhood is easy with two large shopping plazas serving the district. Dixie Outlet Mall is the place that has it all, whether it is window or grocery shopping. Applewood Village Plaza has its own set of amenities and this community also boasts a variety of mom and pop shops, grocery stores, as well as Lakeview Branch Library.
